From 1962, he studied under Okuda Yasuhiro at Ise Asakuma for five years, and in 1969, he revived Hoshino ware, which had been discontinued in the early Meiji period, in the mountains of Chikugo, where he discovered pottery clay from the remaining gold mines in the area.
