He received his training in Tamba in 1971. He opened his kiln in Kumamoto in 1981. Attractively used potter’s clay with a high iron content and fired in the style of Anagama (a type of kiln made by digging a hole in the side of a hill). In accordance with the tradition of Higo-Oshiro ware, he inlaid mainly unglazed and ash glazed ceramics.
