Studied under Ushijima Itto, a carver in Tokoname. He has been working in this field for more than 30 years.He held a father-son exhibition with his son Norio at Ginza Mitsukoshi in 1978. He mainly made tea bowls. He often uses ash glazes such as apple glaze and carving with a single knife.
