Konko pottery 金光焼

Sakamoto Noboru traveled to the Korean peninsula to research ceramics and returned to Japan in 1925. The potter Sakamoto Noboru started a kiln in Konko, Okayama in 1925 to create this type of earthenware.

He invited technicians to start a German-style coal kiln and produced teacups, pots, and flower vases, which he names Konko ware based on the land.
