A potter of the late Edo and Meiji periods.
Born in May of the 8th year of the Tempo era. He was a wheel thrower in Tokoname, Owari (Aichi Prefecture), and made vermilion clay teapots. Died in May 1911 at the age of 75. His real name was Shibata Wakichi.
