Uchiharano ware is pottery made in Aki City, Kochi Prefecture. It is said that Uchiharano ware originated around 1829, when Goto Kazue, chief retainer of the Tosa Domain, invited a potter from Kyoto to Uchiharano, which is located in the north part of Aki City, and the locals learned from him how to make pottery using good-quality clay.
