No details are known other than that he had a factory in Bentencho, Yokohama in the Meiji era and painted Yokohama ware. Stocked unglazed pottery from Kawamoto Masukichi from Seto and others and mainly excelled at painting the customs of the Edo period and warriors. Supported the popularity of Yokohama ware through elegant painting that incorporated elements of gold painted Kutani ware and was popular overseas.
